I do not limit you to choosing from a selection of design templates. I also do not display screen shots of client sites. Why?

• Creating a Web site from a standard Web design means your Web site will have a "me too" look that most likely will be non-compliant as well.
• I do not display screen shots of client sites because this tends to lead prospective clients to think these designs are all I can do. Also, quoting from an unknown source, "The young do not always do as they are told!". The same goes with clients. Though functional design is of the greatest importance in creating a Web site, there are times when the creative design is more important to my client and this may result in a Web site that is compliant and accessible but is not as user friendly or as search engine friendly as it could be and therefore is not typical of my work.
• Everyone has seen sites on the Web that they like. Show me the Web sites you like and I can use them as the criteria for creating your custom Web site design.

Web Site Form, Function or Both

There are two criteria to consider when designing a Web site as there are in any design project - FUNCTION and FORM. Many designers are good at one or the other but rarely both. This means that many Web site designs are good at neither and the result is usually an average looking non-compliant Web site that doesn't perform well.

Form always follows function at New Vista. I realize that, to perform well, a Web site must be

• User Friendly and
• Search Engine Friendly

Custom Design

Form requires a creative mindset and function requires a technical mindset. Often my clients have an individual or company that produces all of their creative materials. In this case I work with their creative people to incorporate their form concepts into my functional design. I can also provide the creative talent if you do not have creative resources available to you.

Many Web site designers limit you to a selection from a set of Web design templates. Others will send you to a Web site that sells Web page templates. Others will display a screen shot of some of the sites they have created for other clients.
